In short
- We use strictly necessary storage for signing in, security, checkout and remembering your cookie choice. Our sites cannot work without it, and the law does not require your consent for it.
- We use preference storage to remember your language, your currency and whether you closed the trial banner. It lasts 1 year only if you allow it. If you do not, it lasts only for your visit.
- We use marketing storage only if you allow it: the TikTok Pixel and the Google Ads tag, which let TikTok and Google measure how our ads perform, on clannode.com and shop.clannode.com. They are off until you switch marketing on, and only then do TikTok and Google set their cookies.
- We do not use analytics or statistics tools, or any other advertising, retargeting or social media cookies, pixels or plugins.
- The spam check on our contact form runs only if you tick its box when you send a message. Only then does our spam protection provider load in your browser and set its own cookies.
- You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page on clannode.com, or with the button below. One choice covers clannode.com and shop.clannode.com.
What cookies and similar storage are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. Similar storage works in the same way but stays inside your browser: local storage keeps information until it expires or you delete it, and session storage keeps it only until you close the tab.
A session cookie is deleted when you close your browser. A persistent cookie stays until it expires or you delete it. A first-party cookie is set by the site you are visiting, and a third-party cookie is set by another company. The rules below apply to all of them.
The rules we follow
The law on cookies protects the information on your device, whether or not it is personal data. Before a website stores information on your device or reads information already there, it must tell you clearly what it does and why, and ask for your consent. There are two exceptions: storage used only to send a communication over a network, and storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly asked for.

If you live in another EU country, its own law implementing Article 5(3) also protects you, for example section 25 of the Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG) in Germany, Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act (Loi Informatique et Libertés) or Article 22.2 of the Spanish Information Society Services Act (LSSI). They follow the same rules.
Changes to these rules have been proposed in the EU and in Romania. None of them had been adopted when we last updated this policy. If the law changes, we will update this policy.
How we apply them
- Strictly necessary storage is always on. It falls under the exception for services you ask for, so we do not ask for your consent. It includes the sign-in and security cookies and the cookie that remembers your choice in our cookie popup. That cookie is shared by clannode.com and shop.clannode.com, so one choice covers both.
- Preference storage is optional. We keep your language, currency and trial banner choices for 1 year only with your consent. Without it, we keep them only for your visit: a session cookie ends when you close your browser, and session storage ends when you close the tab. That short storage falls under the exception for settings you choose yourself, so the site keeps working the way you set it while you use it.
- Marketing is optional. The TikTok Pixel and the Google Ads tag load only with your consent. Without it, neither loads on our sites. If you withdraw it, both stop and we delete TikTok's and Google's cookies on our sites.
- The options start switched off. Preference and marketing storage are never allowed in advance, and ignoring or scrolling past the popup stores nothing optional.
- Rejecting is as easy as accepting. Accept all and Reject all look the same and sit side by side on the first screen of the popup, and you can reject without opening the settings. The same applies to the short cookie notice on shop.clannode.com.
- We keep your choice for 6 months, whichever way you choose. After that, or if we add storage that needs your consent, we ask again.
- No legitimate interest. We never rely on our legitimate interests to store or read information on your device.
- The spam check asks every time. The box in the contact form starts unticked, we do not remember your answer, and you can email us instead of allowing it.

Storage we set ourselves is first-party: only clannode.com can read it, and no other company can access it. TikTok's cookies are set on clannode.com by TikTok's script and sent to TikTok, which can therefore read them. See Advertising measurement with the TikTok Pixel in our privacy policy. Client area, checkout and game panel
Our client area and checkout (shop.clannode.com) and our game panel (panel.clannode.com) are separate sites. The game panel uses only storage that is strictly necessary for the services you use there, so it does not ask for consent. The client area and checkout use strictly necessary storage and, only if you allow marketing, the TikTok Pixel and the Google Ads tag. They share your cookie choice with clannode.com, so a choice you make on either site applies to both. If you have not chosen yet, a short notice on shop.clannode.com asks you, with buttons to accept all and reject all side by side and a link to the cookie settings on clannode.com.

The payment security cookies are set by our payment processor on the payment pages, to protect the payment you are making, and its own privacy notice applies to them. The network security cookies are set by our DNS and network security provider only to protect the site. TikTok's cookies are set by TikTok's script only if you allow marketing. Google's cookies are set by the Google Ads tag only if you allow marketing.
On panel.clannode.com (game panel)
The game panel uses cookies needed for sign-in and security. It also keeps some panel settings in your browser, such as the history of logs you have shared, because the panel features you use need them.
What we do not use
- No analytics or statistics tools, on any of our sites.
- No advertising, retargeting or social media cookies, pixels or plugins, except the TikTok Pixel and the Google Ads tag, which run only on clannode.com and shop.clannode.com and only if you allow marketing.
- No fingerprinting or other ways of recognising your device without cookies. The only exception is the spam check on our contact form, which reads browser and device information only if you allow it. If you allow marketing, the TikTok Pixel and the Google Ads tag also send your IP address and your browser's user agent to TikTok and Google.
- No third-party cookies on clannode.com, except those of the spam check on our contact form, which you allow each time, and TikTok's and Google's cookies, if you allow marketing. Our fonts and images are served from our own website.
Our server configurators include a connection test: your browser sends a few small requests to our game server location to show how fast your connection to it is. The test stores nothing on your device, sends no cookies, and we do not log it. The result is shown only to you. See What we collect in our privacy policy.
Changing your choice
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time, and it is as easy as giving it: open Cookie settings at the bottom of any page on clannode.com, or use the button below, then switch preference storage or marketing on or off and save. Your choice applies to clannode.com and shop.clannode.com.
If you withdraw your consent to preference storage, we immediately turn your language and currency cookies into session cookies and move the trial banner setting to session storage, so they end with your visit. If you withdraw your consent to marketing, the TikTok Pixel and the Google Ads tag stop and we delete TikTok's and Google's cookies on our sites, at the latest when you open the next page on clannode.com or shop.clannode.com. Cookies that TikTok and Google set on their own domains are controlled by them, and you can delete them in your browser. Withdrawing does not affect storage that was lawful before you withdrew.
Deleting or blocking cookies in your browser
You can also delete or block cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings. If you delete the sign-in cookies, you are signed out. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you cannot sign in or order. If you delete your cookie choice, we ask you again on your next visit.

We update this policy when we change the cookies or similar storage we use, or when the law changes. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change needs your consent, we ask for it in the cookie popup before we use the new storage.
